Tap the + button and choose Quick Add to search for a game by title — cover art and metadata are filled in automatically. Choose Add Manually if you prefer to enter all details yourself.

Game search requires IGDB API credentials. Go to Settings → IGDB and enter your Client ID and Client Secret. You can get them for free with a Twitch developer account.

1. Create a free account at dev.twitch.tv and register a new application.

2. Copy the Client ID and generate a Client Secret.

3. Paste both into Settings → IGDB in Unplayed and tap Save. Use Test Connection to confirm everything works.

RAWG is a secondary game database used as a fallback when IGDB doesn't return a cover image or description. It's optional but recommended for the best results. Get a free API key at rawg.io/apidocs, then enter it in Settings → RAWG.

On Nintendo's website, navigate to your purchase history and download a CSV export. In Unplayed, tap + → Import from CSV and select the file. Unplayed will match titles against IGDB and import them automatically.

Tap any game to open its detail view, where you can edit all fields including title, status, rating, and cover. To delete a game, swipe left on it in the list.

Tap the filter icon in the toolbar to narrow your list by console (Switch / Switch 2), genre, play status, ownership type, and multiplayer. Use the sort menu to order by title, rating, or release date.

Open a game's detail view and tap the translate toggle next to the description. Unplayed uses Apple's on-device translation to generate a German version. The translation is saved locally and only happens once per game.

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore and tap Create Backup. You'll be prompted to save a JSON file to any location — iCloud Drive is a good choice to keep it safe across devices.

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore and tap Restore from Backup. Select your backup file and choose whether to merge with your existing collection or replace it entirely.

Unplayed doesn't sync automatically, but you can transfer your collection between devices using the backup and restore feature. Create a backup on one device, save it to iCloud Drive, then restore it on the other.

All your data — games, ratings, and settings — is stored on your device and will be permanently deleted along with the app. Make sure to create a backup first if you want to keep your collection.
